The session will open with a panel discussion featuring keynote speakers from the Barranquilla Cultural Tourism Project, the Governor’s Tourism Office, the city’s Secretariat of Culture, and SMS business association of Barranquilla.
The panel will focus on Business Opportunities in Barranquilla and introduce the city through the following topics:

Youll be introduced to the creative masterminds behind Barranquilla’s legendary Carnival Troupes— and you’ll have the time-of-your- life opportunity to dance in one of them.
Dr. Soley del Castillo, Marlio Cortés, Juventino Ojito, Dr. Carmen Meléndez, and other Carnival troupe leaders will give you the UNIQUE WORLD CLASS OPPORTUNITY to obtain the one time 2026 membership which gives you your full and unique life time experience of deep-diving immersion in Carnival by dancing with their groups during the Grand Parades.
This includes opportunities to dance as a Barranquillero in La Guacherna Parade — where Shakira herself danced this year — and in the other grandest events of Carnival.
Be advised that some top Congo de Oro (Barranquilla Oscar for top Carnival Troupes) have limited availability, so early registration is highly recommended.
You will also be offered the opportunity to learn how to dance like Shakira, in local dancing schools.

On February 1, Carnival hasn’t begun yet — our event is just a small taste, sneak peek for you to rehearse..
The real spectacle is still to come.
From January 31 on, the city comes alive with dozens of free Carnival events.
Since the real sabrosura , Carnival High Season will only start on February 6, you´ll have plenty of time for a world class mix of rehearsing and preparing for dancing in the parades, learning how to dance like Shakira, working or relaxing with tours either in Barranquilla or other world class jewerly tourism experiencies at Cartagena, Santa Marta, Sierra Nevada, Tayrona Park and Palomino.
Our official travel agencies are available to help participants plan a personalized itinerary — for those staying in Barranquilla through the Carnival season or beyond, or for exploring colonial Cartagena, Indigenous territories in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, and the laid-back beach town of Palomino one hour from Barranquilla.
